I founded The Speak Shop to help thought-leaders develop and deliver inspirational speeches that are worthy of the world’s biggest platforms.
I’ve been a Senior Producer for the Focus on the Family Daily Radio Broadcast and I was the senior speechwriter for money pro Dave Ramsey. I’ve worked with execs from billion-dollar companies (like Chick-fil-A) and consulted with some of America’s top authors and speakers. My work has been featured on syndicated radio broadcasts, top five podcasts, viral YouTube channels, and livestreams seen by millions of people around the world.
My catalyst moment happened in 2008 when I was a radio producer.
Our U.S. audience was six million people (internationally it was 131 million). My job was to pre-interview potential guests. I did hundreds of these interviews. I was continually amazed by how many people couldn’t tell their story in a compelling way (even authors with traditional publishing labels). Eventually, I could tell within the first five minutes (or two) if a person could capture and hold the attention of six million people. And it all came down to how well they could tell a story.
I also started The Speak Shop because I was tired of working to build other people’s dreams and wanted to build my own. I wanted the flexibility to be the mom I want to be to my four kids. And, I was willing to bet on myself. That’s part of my story.
Our stories matter. They have the power to move people to think, feel, and even take action. But it’s not enough to have a good story, you have to know how to tell it.
Since my early days in radio, I’ve been on a mission to help people tell better stories. I have over 15 years of experience working with professional communicators and I want to share what I’ve learned with you.

P.S. I'm enneagram 7, wing 8. I love to travel, cook and read, and I love being outdoors more than indoors. When I’m not writing speeches, I’m chasing my four kids around, whom I lovingly refer to as “the savages.” I’m married to Jacob—who’s crushing it at home so that I can pursue my dreams.
